Al’s one shining claim they can fame, was that they once scored “four touchdowns in a single (football) game”. In high school. TWENTY PLUS Years back. As much as Al would be a likeable character, he was flawed. He lived his life firmly in the past. Of course, his defining moment was long ago in his youth. But, what about you?
Where do you live? Are you living in the past? Considering the way it was at the Mercedes 80 s? Thinking of that which you did then, and all sorts of the excuses as to why you’re way once you are in your practice? To be hones, I hear such type of “stinkin’ thinkin’” on a weekly basis.
One example is… “I remember when I used to (fill in the blank) in the office until…
“…I had kids”…
“…I lost charge of my practice and life…”
“…I gained 30 pounds…”
“…I simply gave up”.
That which you did or were 5, 10, Twenty years ago, or even in the days before today no longer matters. Stop making excuses and “get your face out of your past”. Compose a list of all of the items that worked previously, all the stuff that got you new patients. Then exactly how come you’re not doing it any longer.The actual real question is…do you want to do it again, if it worked previously, it will work again now. We all stop doing the things that work along the way. Get back to the things that work and you will create a bigger and much better practice than any other time. And never stop doing the things that work, that’s where the discipline comes and in.
